How much will the work cost?
We provide two different services, call out services and quoted services.
Call out services are charged at a rate for $200+GST, and this covers 1 hour labour. Materials are charged separately and additional hours are charged at $90/hr+GST. We offer this service for jobs that are general plumbing related and are typically the things you need to have done quickly. Usually we can give you an idea of how many hours these types of jobs typically take so you have an idea of potential cost. Often we can do a same day service, however if not we can point you in the direction of someone who might be able to.
Quoted works are for bigger projects such as renovations, larger gas and water repairs and installations, water tanks, nappy hoses and hot water services. In these cases we may be able to quote over the phone or will arrange to meet with you to do an assessment, take measurements and generate a quote for works. We create highly detailed quotes so you know up front what is covered in works and how much this will cost. You can then make a decision about how you would like to proceed, knowing all of this information you can then decide how you wish to proceed. See more about the different services we offer here.

Do you do small jobs?
Yes, we do. Often smaller jobs can be done quickly and are charged at a call out rate of $200+GST (includes 1st hour labour), materials additional, and additional hours charged at $90/hr. If in doubt give us a call and we can let you know when we might be able to help, what is involved and what it’s likely to cost.

You are welcome to see Michael’s check, just ask him.
What is a compliance certificate?
A compliance certificate is issued by a licensed plumber to certify the work they do complies with the relevant plumbing standards, codes and regulations.
A licensed plumber is required to lodge the compliance certificate with the VBA.
Mix Plumbing provide compliance certificates for the following works, as required by the VBA.
- any plumbing work that has a total value of $750 or more, including labour, materials, appliances, and/or fixtures, regardless of who they were purchased by
- all work carried out on below ground sanitary drains
- all work involving the installation, relocation, replacement or conversion of any gas-using appliance
- all work involving the installation, modification or relocation of consumer gas piping
- all work involving the construction, installation, relocation, alteration or replacement of cooling towers.
Some plumbers do not issue compliance certificates. Failing to issue or lodge a compliance certificate is a serious offence. Compliance certificates help protect you against faulty workmanship
